About the gym

What are your opening hours?

We operate 24 hours a day. The gym will be under constant surveillance during Night Hours by a specialist CCTV Gym Monitoring Station. They are able to contact 4 Forces Security Services who can attend site 24 hours and also the Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Ambulance). There is an Emergency Call Point on the wall in the middle of the Gym that can be used by Members to contact the CCTV Monitoring Station.

How do I book a place in a class?

Class Bookings open at 8pm each evening – classes can be booked upto 7 days in advance on the Membr app or in the member area on the website.

Are there changing facilities and lockers at The Gym Club?

We have men’s and women’s changing rooms with high-powered showers, toilets and lockers. Please bring a padlock to secure your locker.

Will I be shown how to use the equipment?

All new members get the option to attend free half hour group induction where our highly skilled trainers demonstrate how to use all the equipment.

Does The Gym Club have WIFI access?

Sorry, due to limited Broadband width locally we are unable to offer this.

Do members have to pay for a fitness programme?

Our personal trainers can create a programme tailored to your ability and goals, speak to a personal trainer directly to arrange a free personal trainer trial or email info@thegymclub.com

About the membership

Is there a joining fee?

If a joining fee is chargeable it will be clearly stated on the ‘prices’ page of website.

Can I trial The Gym Club before joining?

Please call into the gym to set up a free 7 day pass or call in for a tour of our facilities.

Will I be issued with a membership card?

No, you’ll be issued with a unique PIN number that you can use to access The Gym Club via the entrance keypad.

Can I freeze my membership?

Yes for a maximum of 3 months. Please email info@thegymclub.com or ask a member of staff to initiate.

Can I share my PIN number with somebody else?

No. Your PIN number is unique to you. It is important for the safety of our members that no one other than the assigned member uses their PIN number. CCTV monitors our entrance area. If you are found to have let someone else use your PIN number your membership will be cancelled immediately.

Is it possible to change my direct debit date?

Yes, our direct debit partners Harlands services can sort this out for you. Give them a call on 01444 449166.

I haven’t received my PIN yet – what can I do?

Your PIN number is generated automatically when you join and is emailed to you. Have you checked your spam and junk folders? If that doesn’t work, please contact the club via e-mail in the ‘Contact Us‘ section of the website. Please make sure you have completed the Health Questionnaire after you have entered your payment details – this will activate your PIN.

I don’t have a direct debit account does The Gym Club accept cash?

Sorry, no. We only accept direct debit payments.

Is The Gym Club website safe?

Yes, absolutely. The membership application form on the website is secure, all details are fully encrypted and your personal details are kept private.

Can I pay upfront for one year?

No – sorry. We don’t do that.

What do I do if my PIN doesn’t work?

Our PIN system is designed to be reliable. However, if you do run into problems you can ask at reception and one of our friendly staff will help you.

Does The Gym Club offer student discount?

No. Our prices are as low as possible and rely on all members being equal.

When does the first month’s payment come out of my bank?

Your first payment will be processed upon joining. It includes the joining fee if applicable and first month’s payment. Future payments will be debited one month from the day of joining.

How do I cancel my membership?

We employ a company called Harlands that administers our memberships, all cancellation requests are handled by them. To cancel your membership you must email info@thegymclub.com or call into the club to request cancellation information. Please be aware that a minimum 7 working days notice is required to cancel your membership and Direct Debit.
